While they were in college, Dave, and his wife, Lisa, wanted to start using their musical training to serve their local church. That desire has continued to this day. Their family has been integral in the music here at Snowy Range E-Free since 1998.
Dave grew up in a Christian family and became a Christian as a child. He loved singing in church. He sang with gusto, and he sang with joy. He still loves it.
He spent 11 years as a band and choir director for around 2500 students in the public schools, and serving as adjunct faculty in the University of Wyoming Music Department Choral program, instructing at music camps, adjudicating clinics, festivals, and forming Jazz groups. In college, his emphasis was Vocal Music and Brass Instruments. During college, he learned guitar when his college ministry had no one to lead worship music, and continues to this day using the guitar in worship.
In addition to his duties at SREFC, He also has a strong background in audio engineering and provides sound systems and mixes concerts for Laramie civic events, the UW Music Department, the Department of Cultural Programs, and the Department of Theater and Dance. He also has experience serving as a stage manager and musical director for Broadway style music productions.
He leads the music teams at SREFC, and oversees the technical team. His greatest joy at SREFC is to hear the congregation sing praise and worship with all their heart, soul, mind and strength.
